Lessons From the Leprechaun
Mar 12, 2021
I met a Leprechaun one day while strolling through the park.
With a twinkle in his eye, I caught him by surprise
As he sat there happy as a lark.
Now this was my chance, it didn't take me long
as I spoke out big and bold.
I asked him if he could tell me where to find
that pot of gold.
He was short and fat and sat very still
He had a look that up your spine sent a little chill.
He said, "I'll tell you where it's at
as he looked me through and through but in the
end finding it is all up to you.
When you've reached the end of your rainbow
if you can say I have done the very best I can.
I have done nothing to harm my fellow man.
If you have wisdom to keep you from being a fool
and if you have lived your life by the Golden Rule.
If you have love and respect, they go hand in hand,
and if you've not built your castle upon shifting sands.
When you lay down at night and have a peace of mind,
and not hold a grudge of any kind.
If you have the love of God deep down in your soul,
when you have these, my friend, you have found your pot of gold."
